Joey started training with us almost exactly one year ago, after finishing 7th grade. It was really important to him that he was able to play hockey at a high level in High School.
After 7 months of training (He used his freeze for hockey season,) Joey has seen results that will blow you away.
Joey’s mom: “We definitely see the benefits on the ice. He’s much more explosive off the bench, and can take and give hits to players much larger than him due to all of the strength he has built.”
The results we’ve seen in the gym are even more pronounced. Let’s take a look about how Joey went from very low levels of athleticism to elite levels in less than one year.
Joey made a commitment right off the bat, consistently training around 20 sessions per month. How did he do it? He took an off-season from his sport! He played hockey during hockey season, and prepared his body to play hockey the rest of the year. He sometimes trained two sessions in a day. He trained all 3 sessions that we offer (Speed, agility, and strength) consistently. The results seem unbelievable.
Here are Joey’s laser-timed evaluation numbers then vs. now:
10 yard dash: 2.41 – 1.78
20 yard dash: 3.99 – 2.96
Vertical jump: 15.5″ – 23″
5-10-5 agility: 5.76 – 4.90
Chin-ups: Zero – 10
If you don’t quite understand these numbers, this is like comparing the athleticism of the kid at the end of the bench (or maybe not even able to make the team) to the star player. The thing is, these results are predictable, as we’ve replicated it with kids for 10+ years at our facility.
The key is a commitment to unlimited training during your off-season. If you come 1 or 2 times per week, you will absolutely see results. If you commit to this and come often, you can accomplish your dreams as an athlete.
We’ve seen it happen time and time again. The athlete wall in our facility is a testament to the athletes who commit to training and bettering themselves. They all have played college sports. They all spent periods of the year doing 15-20 sessions per month with us.
In writing this email and providing Joey’s results, I had to confirm with the coaches, because he simply breaks his own records weekly. We can hardly keep up! Joey has accomplished his goal and will play hockey at Don Bosco Prep next year. If you had asked me if that was possible a year ago, I would have said no way. Joey’s dedication to improving himself and becoming a high level athlete is awesome to watch and we’re all eager to see him continue to improve and grow as an athlete and person!
