Recover

Play Hard, Train Hard, Recover Harder

Your athlete has trained hard to prepare for the season, but will they recover hard to keep themselves quick, strong, and healthy during it? We’re really excited to offer recovery classes for athletes ages 12 & up!

Our goal is to provide an option for in-season athletes to come in and use our special recovery methods with step by step guidance from our experienced trainers. Before you say, “This sounds great, but my athlete doesn’t have time for this,” recovery classes start at 7:00pm, so there’s plenty of time after practice to take part in the class!

How Do Athletes Recover?

Recovery is an important part of any athlete’s journey and is used by every college and professional athlete for the last 30+ years. You’ve probably heard the stories of LeBron James spending millions of dollars each year to help him recover from the rigorous demands of NBA basketball in his late 30s and now 40s. We’ll bring some of the basic recovery methods right to your athlete!

We’ll introduce recovery boots that help circulation and keep your athlete feeling fresh on the field throughout the season. Your athlete will wear the boots for 10-15 minutes each session to relieve minor muscle aches, increase circulation, simulate muscle massage, and decrease soreness. This is every athlete’s favorite part of the class!

We will also work on foam rolling, mobility, and stretching to keep the athletes healthy. Foam rolling, or self-myofascial release, will be guided and help keep all large muscle groups from tightening up. Foam rolling has so many benefits, including increased range of motion, released trigger points/knots, increased blood flow, and increased flexibility.

We’ll do full body mobility work at the beginning of each class, and a full body stretch at the end. This will help keep the shoulder, hips, knees, and ankles fluid and help limit soreness from playing their sport.

Last, we’ll have a massage gun available for the coach/athlete to use if they have a specific problem area. The theragun has similar benefits as the other modalities above, but can be done specifically by the coach or the athlete if there is one target problem area.

All of these methods add up to an athlete who is less injury prone, moves better, and stays fresh throughout the season. Your child will be able to feel the difference this class makes on them and they’ll enjoy doing it, too!

Classes are an hour long and have a maximum of 6 athletes per session, just like our regular classes. If you have questions, please contact us here!
